What’s A Good Movie To Watch When You Feel Lonely And Depressed?
Every day after work I used to feel exhausted. and once at home, I couldn’t shake off the feeling of loneliness and depression.
I sat in front of my TV with one hand in my pocket and the other one on remote control, switching channels and looking for something good to watch.
I was not in the mood to do anything else but sit there and watch the “damn” TV.
It was simply the easiest and least strenuous thing to do after another hard day at work.
And you now what?
No matter what movie was on… no matter what reality show was running, I could never get my mood to improve.
I felt somewhat better because my mind switched focus on whatever was on TV and I was able to forget about all the bad stuff that happened that day… well at least for a while.
But it never really elevated my spirit.
Now I’m sure you have your favorite genre or type that sucks you out of “the now” and into this fantasy world of movies. Everyone does and so do I.
Mine is comedy. I just love a good comedy because it doesn’t only make me forget about my social anxiety but it also elevates my mood a bit.
And there’s actually a particular movie that I can recommend if you feel lonely and depressed, and you feel like watching something good.
It’s one of my favorite movies with Jim Carrey and it’s called Yes Man.
It’s a movie about a guy who challenges himself to say “yes” to everything for an entire year.
It’s a good, uplifting comedy that actually motivates you to do something about your situation and go after a better life.
So when you feel lonely and depressed, watch Yes Man.
Or even better… make a decision to do something about your social anxiety and make the first step to overcoming it for good.
